Farm to Table and Farm to School Consulting

Amy Cotler works solo, as well as heading up a farm-to-table team of affiliated experts to bring farm fresh food and sustainable concepts to her clients. She consults on developing and enhancing programs, educating and empowering staff, harnessing and codifying vision and translating it into effective action.

Consult Cotler as needed in person or via phone or email. She works with businesses and individuals, non-profits, schools, community groups, state agriculture and education departments, farm and food advocacy organizations…..

Farm to Table Project Management

This includes all projects that boost farm to table connections. Emphasis is on engaging and empowering participants to work effectively. As needed, objectives are established and a realistic work plan outlined, which can be be executed by Ms. Cotler or handed back to the clients.

Event Coordination Events may be for educational, fundraising purposes, or the sheer pleasure of savoring fresh quality foods. They can be as small as a 10 person team-building project, or elaborate as a 500 person extravaganza or larger conference.

Local Food Initiatives Consultant (including Buy Local Campaigns)

Consulting can inform, initiate and develop projects and programs. These can range from boosting general membership and community outreach to deepening connections between growers and buyers. Ms. Cotler can also improve organizational literature, help shape effective mission statements and establish short and long-term goals.

Farm to School Program Consultant

School food service staff — but also PTAs, school boards and community groups— learn how to integrate farm-fresh produce into school food. Fresh from the Farm: The Massachusetts Farm to School Cookbook is used as a tool.  In-person or even phone consultations are available, either solo or with experienced food service directors who are running successful programs. Food demonstrations show school food service professionals how source and work with seasonal produce. All recipes and techniques fulfill USDA requirements.

Grant writer and fund-raising consultant

Cotler writes grants in the food and farm arena for clients looking to outsource their grant writing, She also consults with non-profits on ways to keep afloat through creative fundraising.
